New Horses

 Hi guys!!! Sorry for not posting for so long!! I was traveling a LOT this summer šŸ˜…. One of the places I went was to Vermont to visit family and to go to the fair that is there every year. I have a friend who works at the Morgan Horse Farm up there(if youā€™ve been reading this blog long enough youā€™ll probably remember her taking me there to cuddle some foals ā˜ŗļø)   She also works for a Clydesdale farm who were competing at the fair. I got to help out get them ready to show! It was awesome seeing everything that goes on behind the scenes! If you guys are interested, I can make a post about it.

But anywayā€¦. The main reason Iā€™m posting; to show off my Breyerfest and post Breyerfest horses! 

First, Athenian Lady, the celebration horse. (I donā€™t have official pictures of these guys yet,[thatā€™s how you know in busy lol] so ignore the bad pics!

Here she is with the rest of my celebration horses. I absolutely love her coloring šŸ’•

Then the SR mare and foal
They are probably my favorite of all the BF horses!

I also got two Just Like Fire, one to keep and one to sell. My conga is growing!! 

Then I ended up getting these guy in a partial trade for the surprise horse I got from BF (matte cremello)

The foal is so stinking cute!

Then I got this guy afterwards as well(teal is my FAVORITE color šŸ’™šŸ’š) in trade for somethingā€¦ I donā€™t remember what šŸ˜‚

Then I got a few more mini whinnies to add to my ever growing collection 

So manyšŸ˜³ (and I probably have just as many in my body binšŸ¤£

Sooo, that covers all my recent purchases/trades! Who is your favorite?

 Iā€™ve been working on quite a few customs over the past couple months. Iā€™ve done lots of new things, my first rabicano and my first traditional horse. The traditional is definitely my best custom to date!  I did a fleabitten grey because I am good at thosešŸ˜‚ I am very happy with how he turned out! I had planned from the beginning to sell him when he was done, but I was definitely tempted to keep him! I tried a new technique to make them more realistic.  And the eyesā€¦ well, I think I finally get those down pat!!! I sold him as planned and he went to a home where he is going to be shownā˜ŗļø. NaMoPaiMo

 Well, I meant to get this posted a week ago, but better late than never! For those of you who donā€™t know, NaMoPaiMo stands for National Model Painting Month. It was founded by Jennifer Buxton in 2017. You have one month (February) to paint and complete a model horse. You can find more information on  this  page   of  Jennifer Buxtonā€™s blog . Anyway, long story short, I signed up for this year(my first year!)  So introducing my NaMoPaiMo modelā€¦ Iā€™ve started painting her twice and stripped her twice. This time Iā€™m determined to get it right! I mean third times a charm right? If all goes according to plan, she will be a dappled grey with a stripe and possibly a few socks by February 29! I also have a few side projectsā€¦ This little girl will be a chestnut like her mom,  April Showers . Practice Makes Perfect

A few weeks back, I got some new leather lace. So I decided that it was time to make some halters. My first victim was Snowman. His mold is the perfect one to try things on, in my opinion. (And he needed a new halter anyway) Hereā€™s how it came out: As usual, I made all the hardware myself. I canā€™t really afford to get a bunch from Rio Rondo.    But this was my first attempt at a rolled throat latch. I am very pleased with how it came out. :) I think Snowman is pleased too! After I completed the first halter, I was just dying to make another. This time I made one for my  favorite Breyer , Adamek. I used all the same techniques, but this time I tried adding little stitch marks to all the leather. I was really happy with that one too, but I still felt that I could do better. So I got one of my other horses.(My only horse that I  cannot name! Seriously, literally nothing I think of suits him. )  And started making one for him. I added stitch markings to this one too...
