Everything Under The Sun


 Sorry for not posting for so long! I’ve been so busy! I have 4 commissions to finish, 10 halters to make, 3 mini whinny boxes, two sets of boots, one show halter, a leather halter, a shipping halter, just to name a few! And that’s not even counting the orders from my Etsy store 😂  So… yeah, I have lots of model horse stuff to do! 

Here are the models I’ve finished:

And this dappled grey stablemate, who has since sold

And I don’t think I’ve posted this guy yet, he’s a mini whinny I painted a few months ago. Still for sale as of now! So let me know if you want him! 

And here is a few of my projects….

I also started making mini whinny boxes!!! They are super fun (but also time-consuming) to make! 

Then I made this Arabian halter for fun… it needs work, but is much better than the first one I made!

I also spent way too long making this bridle😂 it is very detailed and is for sale as well! 

And, my favorite thing I’ve made recently; another western saddle set!!! Teal, my favorite color ☺️ Made to fit the firefly mold(my favorite mold lol) You can see the matching saddle pad and I want to make matching boots sometime too. I’m very happy with how it turned out!!

And despite being busy, I did manage to decorate my barn for Christmas! Although this is the only picture I’ve taken of it lol.

Hopefully things slow down after Christmas and I’ll be back to posting regularly again! Thank you guys for reading!

    These are all really cool! I really like the dapple grey, he is STUNNING!
    I do have *one* note about the English bridle- on a Kimberwick bit, the curb chain goes in the little hole that is just below where the cheek pieces attach. Other than that, it looks really good! Did you make the breyer box pattern yourself, or did you find it somewhere? If you made it, could you maybe make a tutorial, and if you found it, could you please share a link? Thanks!

      Thank you! I do know that about the bit, but the chain wouldn’t fit into the hole😂 so I improvised lol. The box pattern is from Lisa’s Model Horse DIY: https://m.youtube.com/@lisasmodelhorsediy/videos I just tweaked it a bit, and made a whole new one for the vintage boxes. It’s just a lot of trial and error!

    The queen is back! YAY! Oh, my goodness, you have gotten SOOO good! Both the tack and the customs. I love that western set, and that dapple gray is so gorgeous!!! Amazing job on the bridle! Great job!!

 Well, I meant to get this posted a week ago, but better late than never! For those of you who don’t know, NaMoPaiMo stands for National Model Painting Month. It was founded by Jennifer Buxton in 2017. You have one month (February) to paint and complete a model horse. You can find more information on  this  page   of  Jennifer Buxton’s blog . Anyway, long story short, I signed up for this year(my first year!)  So introducing my NaMoPaiMo model… I’ve started painting her twice and stripped her twice. This time I’m determined to get it right! I mean third times a charm right? If all goes according to plan, she will be a dappled grey with a stripe and possibly a few socks by February 29! I also have a few side projects… This little girl will be a chestnut like her mom,  April Showers . This and That

 I haven’t made a bunch of stuff lately, but I’ll show you what I did make :) First… A blanket for Dream Catcher.  I am very happy with this one! It’s my favorite blanket so far! (Then again, I say that with every single one I make 😂. I guess that means I’m getting better 😅) Then of course I had to make a rope halter to match and take a few pictures… (I made a matching lead rope too, but forgot to take a picture of it) Then I got my leather out and made some boots! I didn’t have mini magnets for the straps, so I improvised! (But mini magnets are being shipped as I write😉) I found some metal thingies that look like long skinny nails… and put the head through the leather. I’ll be making more as soon as the magnets come. This way is  waaayyyy to time consuming! And on other news… Breyerfest tickets are FINALLY on sale! I haven’t gotten mine yet but I will soon. And Breyer is doing a giveaway for leap year! Practice Makes Perfect

A few weeks back, I got some new leather lace. So I decided that it was time to make some halters. My first victim was Snowman. His mold is the perfect one to try things on, in my opinion. (And he needed a new halter anyway) Here’s how it came out: As usual, I made all the hardware myself. I can’t really afford to get a bunch from Rio Rondo.    But this was my first attempt at a rolled throat latch. I am very pleased with how it came out. :) I think Snowman is pleased too! After I completed the first halter, I was just dying to make another. This time I made one for my  favorite Breyer , Adamek. I used all the same techniques, but this time I tried adding little stitch marks to all the leather. I was really happy with that one too, but I still felt that I could do better. So I got one of my other horses.(My only horse that I  cannot name! Seriously, literally nothing I think of suits him. )  And started making one for him. I added stitch markings to this one too...
