Buckskins, Grey's, and Blacks
After NaMoPaiMo was done, I lasted about two weeks before I started painting again š. I selected four horses to paint:
These guys will be a bloody shoulder Arabian (the mare) and a black (the filly)
The mare is the only one I have finished so far, Iāll add pictures of the further down.
And these two are in the process of becoming sooty buckskin Connemara ponies! Iām going to keep one and sell one.
I found a bunch of reference pictures for them, sooty buckskins are SO pretty!
Looking up reference pictures has got to be one of my favorite parts of painting!
I forgot to take pictures of the foal, but she is just in her base coat black right now
Here is what Iām aiming for:

And now for the one I finished! First I found way more reference pictures than I needed, but the bloody shoulder Arabians are just so beautiful!
There are so many different kinds!
Some arenāt even on the shoulder!
I decided to do a medium sized one.
I know sheās a bit heavy and large-boned to be an Arabian, but itās not like Iām planning on showing her, so I donāt mind.
And thatās it for today! Next Iāll show you my first RioRondo order and my first western show halterš
Wow! They look really good! What do you use to paint them, and how long have you been customizing models?
ReplyDeleteJust acrylics, except for some pastels to shade the Arabians grey areas :)
DeleteAnd Iāve been painting for just about a year.
Those Crois will look especially stunning! šš
ReplyDeleteWonderful job on that bloody shoulder mare, she looks awesome!
