Breyerfest OVER šŸ˜šŸ˜¢

 I didnā€™t do much the last day of Breyerfest, because I needed to pack for going out of state this week! So donā€™t expect any posts for the rest of the week. 

But Breyer has announced the theme for next BF!


Sound awesome! Iā€™m wondering what they are going to do for the real horse aspect and how they will relate to 75 years of BFā€¦. But anyway, I hope I can go in person but I doubt it. Only time will tell!

 Iā€™ve been working on quite a few customs over the past couple months. Iā€™ve done lots of new things, my first rabicano and my first traditional horse. The traditional is definitely my best custom to date!  I did a fleabitten grey because I am good at thosešŸ˜‚ I am very happy with how he turned out! I had planned from the beginning to sell him when he was done, but I was definitely tempted to keep him! I tried a new technique to make them more realistic.  And the eyesā€¦ well, I think I finally get those down pat!!! I sold him as planned and he went to a home where he is going to be shownā˜ŗļø. NaMoPaiMo

 Well, I meant to get this posted a week ago, but better late than never! For those of you who donā€™t know, NaMoPaiMo stands for National Model Painting Month. It was founded by Jennifer Buxton in 2017. You have one month (February) to paint and complete a model horse. You can find more information on  this  page   of  Jennifer Buxtonā€™s blog . Anyway, long story short, I signed up for this year(my first year!)  So introducing my NaMoPaiMo modelā€¦ Iā€™ve started painting her twice and stripped her twice. This time Iā€™m determined to get it right! I mean third times a charm right? If all goes according to plan, she will be a dappled grey with a stripe and possibly a few socks by February 29! Practice Makes Perfect

A few weeks back, I got some new leather lace. So I decided that it was time to make some halters. My first victim was Snowman. His mold is the perfect one to try things on, in my opinion. (And he needed a new halter anyway) Hereā€™s how it came out: As usual, I made all the hardware myself. I canā€™t really afford to get a bunch from Rio Rondo.    But this was my first attempt at a rolled throat latch. I am very pleased with how it came out. :) I think Snowman is pleased too! After I completed the first halter, I was just dying to make another. This time I made one for my  favorite Breyer , Adamek. I used all the same techniques, but this time I tried adding little stitch marks to all the leather. I was really happy with that one too, but I still felt that I could do better. So I got one of my other horses.(My only horse that I  cannot name! Seriously, literally nothing I think of suits him. )  And started making one for him. I added stitch markings to this one too...
