So I did end up finishing my coloring contest page (hurrah!!!) even though it’s not as good as I hoped, my fingers are crossed that it might just be good enough for the top three  That being said, I’m not getting my hopes up. I seriously doubt I’ll be able to win! But it was very fun to make, even if I was sick for some of it ๐Ÿ˜‰ And, as for the Breyer  news  on everyone’s lips, I think mini Othello is ADORABLE! I’m not joining the deluxe CC this year, the normal one is enough for me. I like Heath even better than the stablemate anyway. I love roans, and this one is just stunning! I can’t wait! And thank you, everyone who commented on my last post. I am indeed better, and cant wait for  Breyers National Fun Day  tomorrow! What workshops are you guys doing?

Determination

So here’s the rundown on pretty much everything. The horse that I was painting has come to a halt because… I don’t really know. Temporary lack of interest?  I’ve taken lots of great pictures recently and even had made up a funny Halloween story  “The Legend of Mr. Cracklebones” I planned on showing you guys which don’t worry, I will still definitely be posting about๐Ÿ˜‰ but that’s about it. The reason being…I’m sick. The last few days have been very non-productive.  I had two orders that I had to pack up yesterday. Time that I much rather would’ve been spending laying down. But I got them all packed up and they were shipped out first thing this morning. Then I realize something. Today is the last day to send your entry in for the  Breyer Coloring Contest . I had worked way  too hard on it to let being sick stop me from finishing. After all, all I have left to color is the horse and the sky. I went downstairs and tried to find a blue dark enough to be the nig...

Holiday Horses Revealed!!!

Image
Breyer revealed their Christmas line today! First up is Highlander, who we have all seen already. I actually went to tractor supply about a week ago and saw him. He was a lot prettier in person than I was expecting. I still don’t think I’m gonna get him, but he does look really nice. And by the way down the horses I was hoping were there (namely Lefty) sadly weren’t. :/                      But back on topic, we have Highlander , His  stirrup ornament , His cute  pin , And the Highlander  mug  and  blanket . They are GORGEOUS!!! Probably the prettiest (In my opinion) that Breyer has ever done for Christmas!  Oh, and I almost forgot, the new winter hat  has a little Highlander on it too! Next we have all the ornaments! This one has a  pon y mare and foal on one side  And the stallion on the other! charger, the carousel  horse A pretty blue roan tennessee walking horse Santa ridi...

Bareback & Blankets

Image
It was rainy for the past week, so I never got the horse sealed… but it’s supposed to be nice for the next couple days so I’ll try to get him sealed soon! Even though my week was very busy, I managed to get some projects accomplished this past weekend. Saturday was spent making a blanket since it’s getting cooler (at least in most parts of the country) and I got this really nice fabric from the dollar tree. I really enjoyed putting all the little details together! It’s definitely the best blanket I’ve ever made. And also the first one I’ve made using bias tape. I’m very happy with the result! (Below are the three most recent blankets I’ve made) And here are two of my first blankets … I’d say that I’ve improved ๐Ÿ˜… And today… I’ve been working on a few different things, as you can tell๐Ÿ˜† By the way, did you see my gorgeous Adamek in the blanket? He looks so good in everything ๐Ÿ˜ Anyway, back on topic, I made three fall colored lead ropes, And started several bareback pad sets. I rea...

Quick Update

Image
Well, as the title suggests, this is a quick update on the horse that I’m painting (it annoys me that I can’t call him by name since he doesn’t have one yet!๐Ÿ˜…)   I put the first coat on yesterday  It’s yellow with some gold mixed in to give him a bit of an underlying sheen. Then came the second coat:        Now he looks like a creepy apple ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿ˜‚ I needed to seal him before moving on to the third coat, but it rained all day . So I waited until today— still raining!  I can’t do it inside because of the smell (plus, breathing it in is bad)  So I decided to wrap it up (literally!) Sooo, maybe tomorrow?

This, that, and the other thing

I finally decided on a color for this guy: I’m going to do a seal brown. After a while of thinking, that was the color that kept coming to mind. Don’t the models chose the color themselves sometimes? Or an I just going crazy…?  Anyway, I found a ton of reference pictures:    I like these three the best: I’m still debating whether or not he should have any white markings… Then of course I needed mouth pictures since his mouth is open: I’m also using the eyes on some of these as reference too. I want an almost-scared look, more like annoyed… do you know what I’m saying? Maybe? And speaking of painting, I’m going to be doing the Painting A Chestnut workshop on Breyers National Fun Day Event. It’s actually perfect because I’ve never painted a chestnut before (well,  polkadot princess  was a chestnut leopard Appaloosa but it’s not the same) I’ve done 2 bays, 2 pintos(both B&W๐Ÿ˜…), 2 appy’s and 2 blue(they were unicorns). Hmmm that’s a lot of two colors๐Ÿคฃ And...
