Quick Update

Image
Well, as the title suggests, this is a quick update on the horse that I’m painting (it annoys me that I can’t call him by name since he doesn’t have one yet!πŸ˜…)   I put the first coat on yesterday  It’s yellow with some gold mixed in to give him a bit of an underlying sheen. Then came the second coat:        Now he looks like a creepy apple πŸ€£πŸ˜‚ I needed to seal him before moving on to the third coat, but it rained all day . So I waited until today— still raining!  I can’t do it inside because of the smell (plus, breathing it in is bad)  So I decided to wrap it up (literally!) Sooo, maybe tomorrow?

This, that, and the other thing

I finally decided on a color for this guy: I’m going to do a seal brown. After a while of thinking, that was the color that kept coming to mind. Don’t the models chose the color themselves sometimes? Or an I just going crazy…?  Anyway, I found a ton of reference pictures:    I like these three the best: I’m still debating whether or not he should have any white markings… Then of course I needed mouth pictures since his mouth is open: I’m also using the eyes on some of these as reference too. I want an almost-scared look, more like annoyed… do you know what I’m saying? Maybe? And speaking of painting, I’m going to be doing the Painting A Chestnut workshop on Breyers National Fun Day Event. It’s actually perfect because I’ve never painted a chestnut before (well,  polkadot princess  was a chestnut leopard Appaloosa but it’s not the same) I’ve done 2 bays, 2 pintos(both B&WπŸ˜…), 2 appy’s and 2 blue(they were unicorns). Hmmm that’s a lot of two colors🀣 And on a different note, I made

NINE new herd members 😳😳😳

Image
Yeah, I kinda bought more horses even though I said I wouldn’t…  But you’ll see why when you see who they are and the price I bought them for! It was a spectacular deal! I know I say that every time, but this is by far the best deal I’ve ever seen!!!! (I say that all the time too, don’t I?) But let me just cut to the chase, I got seven  Traditional Breyer horses(all of which were SR’s LE’s or Collectors Choice!) for $100 shipping included !!!! See what I’m talking about here?!?! To be exact, here they are: (Left to right) Salpicado, 2005 Limited Edition 7,500 made; Freedom, the legend of the bloody shoulder Arabian, Commemorative Edition, 10,000 made; Gathering Storm, Collectors Choice ; Cloud Nine, Collectors Choice; Gooitzen fan Teakesyl, Breyerfest 2014 celebration horse; Turnbridge Wells Breyerfest 2012 Special Run, 1,500 made; and Buckaroo, Breyerfest 2013 Special Run, 1,000 made.  And the white ones are painting projects.  This guy I found at Home Sense. I think he’s supposed to

Last ride at Capstone

Image
Today I rode at Capstone for the last time 😒 I’m going to be working at a different farm starting the 18th. This one will be a lot closer (I can bike there in about 15 minutes) and instead of working 6 hours for a half-hour lesson (like I’m doing now) I will get a half hour lesson for every two  hours i work! And  they have trails to ride on!!! Yippee!  I’ll tell you about the horses once I know them better (I’ve only been there once for the interview) and because I only remember two of their names 🀣 Anyway, today my mom and two of my three little sisters came to watch. My sisters were in charge of taking pictures and videos 0-0 A few actually turned out okay  Some were not so great  And a few were nice pictures of Phantoms butt 🀣 And don’t ask me why there is a random muck bucket in the middle of the area, I don’t know. Maybe the roof was leaking? But it was a very good last ride. Phantom Is a good boy. A sweaty, slobbery, good boy (I’ll be back visiting a lotπŸ˜‰)
