NINE new herd members 😳😳😳

 Yeah, I kinda bought more horses even though I said I wouldn’t…  But you’ll see why when you see who they are and the price I bought them for! It was a spectacular deal! I know I say that every time, but this is by far the best deal I’ve ever seen!!!! (I say that all the time too, don’t I?) But let me just cut to the chase, I got seven Traditional Breyer horses(all of which were SR’s LE’s or Collectors Choice!) for $100 shipping included !!!! See what I’m talking about here?!?! To be exact, here they are:

(Left to right) Salpicado, 2005 Limited Edition 7,500 made; Freedom, the legend of the bloody shoulder Arabian, Commemorative Edition, 10,000 made; Gathering Storm, Collectors Choice ; Cloud Nine, Collectors Choice; Gooitzen fan Teakesyl, Breyerfest 2014 celebration horse; Turnbridge Wells Breyerfest 2012 Special Run, 1,500 made; and Buckaroo, Breyerfest 2013 Special Run, 1,000 made.  And the white ones are painting projects. 

This guy I found at Home Sense. I think he’s supposed to be a bookend but he is really light. Hmmm



And this foal was a gift from a friend. He’s kinda creepy, hopefully a bit of paint will do him good.

Anyway, back to the Breyers. I’m selling 5 of them and keeping 2. I wish I could keep more but I can get really good money for most of them and use it to get ones that I like more. Here are links for the ones that I’m selling:

I’m keeping the Arabian because I’ve always wanted a bloody shoulder Arabian 

And he is bigger than I expected! He’s the biggest of all my Arabians! Well, actually, Huckleberry would probably be taller if he was standing; not trotting.

The one thing I don’t like about him is his eyes. I don’t mean to be rude to whoever painted him, but… they’re really bad. Maybe he was painted by someone who was new? I might end up painting over them.

I’m also keeping this guy! Something about roans and flea bitten grays on Breyers just catch my eye.
And this mold has such a sweet expression!!!
And I can’t really tell if he’s a blue roan or a red roan! At first glance, he looks blue, but if you look closely you can see that looks to be a bay underneath?!? 
 
Maybe he’ll be a purple roan😂🤣


Anyway, those are the new herd members! I am VERY happy with them! Hopefully the ones for sale find new homes fast so I don’t get to attached lol!!!

Practice Makes Perfect

A few weeks back, I got some new leather lace. So I decided that it was time to make some halters. My first victim was Snowman. His mold is the perfect one to try things on, in my opinion. (And he needed a new halter anyway) Here’s how it came out: As usual, I made all the hardware myself. I can’t really afford to get a bunch from Rio Rondo.    But this was my first attempt at a rolled throat latch. I am very pleased with how it came out. :) I think Snowman is pleased too! After I completed the first halter, I was just dying to make another. This time I made one for my  favorite Breyer , Adamek. I used all the same techniques, but this time I tried adding little stitch marks to all the leather. I was really happy with that one too, but I still felt that I could do better. So I got one of my other horses.(My only horse that I  cannot name! Seriously, literally nothing I think of suits him. )  And started making one for him. NaMoPaiMo

 Well, I meant to get this posted a week ago, but better late than never! For those of you who don’t know, NaMoPaiMo stands for National Model Painting Month. It was founded by Jennifer Buxton in 2017. You have one month (February) to paint and complete a model horse. You can find more information on  this  page   of  Jennifer Buxton’s blog . Anyway, long story short, I signed up for this year(my first year!)  So introducing my NaMoPaiMo model… I’ve started painting her twice and stripped her twice. This time I’m determined to get it right! I mean third times a charm right? If all goes according to plan, she will be a dappled grey with a stripe and possibly a few socks by February 29! I also have a few side projects… This little girl will be a chestnut like her mom,  April Showers . I also want to get this guy painted as some kind of bay… I’m not sure if I’ll be doing a red bay, dark bay, etc.   I sanded down his head a little bit to make him more Arabian-typey And my last side project

This and That

 I haven’t made a bunch of stuff lately, but I’ll show you what I did make :) First… A blanket for Dream Catcher.  I am very happy with this one! It’s my favorite blanket so far! (Then again, I say that with every single one I make 😂. I guess that means I’m getting better 😅) Then of course I had to make a rope halter to match and take a few pictures… (I made a matching lead rope too, but forgot to take a picture of it) Then I got my leather out and made some boots! I didn’t have mini magnets for the straps, so I improvised! (But mini magnets are being shipped as I write😉) I found some metal thingies that look like long skinny nails… and put the head through the leather. I’ll be making more as soon as the magnets come.
