The Christmas Surprise

 Well I’m sure most, if not all, of you have heard what mold it’s on and seen pictures, I still think Wassali deserves a post of his own. 


They didn’t show any pictures (they said they would do that on Christmas Day) but they did have this in the description:


It’s on the huckleberry bey mold! Not what I was expecting, but I didn’t think it would be on Emma like most people thought.
Strangely, all the details in the description disappeared soon after it was released . This is all it says for colors markings and the mold now:

You'll randomly receive one of four colors on an iconic Kathleen Moody sculpture!

Take heed, if your name is found on the naughty list, you may receive one of 24 pieces of glossy black "Coal." Check back on Christmas Day for the full reveal!

I really like what they did with the Christmas morning  (not this year lol) surprise! And in other news, breyer announced the Collector Club event for this year!

 

Spokes and Spurs! Sound fun! The two event models are really pretty too.  The Traditional is Wimpy’s Little Step

And the Stable mate is a cute black Clydesdale named Ned.



Really pretty but luckily nothing I’m in love with.

Practice Makes Perfect

A few weeks back, I got some new leather lace. So I decided that it was time to make some halters. My first victim was Snowman. His mold is the perfect one to try things on, in my opinion. (And he needed a new halter anyway) Here’s how it came out: As usual, I made all the hardware myself. I can’t really afford to get a bunch from Rio Rondo.    But this was my first attempt at a rolled throat latch. I am very pleased with how it came out. :) I think Snowman is pleased too! After I completed the first halter, I was just dying to make another. This time I made one for my  favorite Breyer , Adamek. I used all the same techniques, but this time I tried adding little stitch marks to all the leather. I was really happy with that one too, but I still felt that I could do better. So I got one of my other horses.(My only horse that I  cannot name! Seriously, literally nothing I think of suits him. )  And started making one for him. NaMoPaiMo

 Well, I meant to get this posted a week ago, but better late than never! For those of you who don’t know, NaMoPaiMo stands for National Model Painting Month. It was founded by Jennifer Buxton in 2017. You have one month (February) to paint and complete a model horse. You can find more information on  this  page   of  Jennifer Buxton’s blog . Anyway, long story short, I signed up for this year(my first year!)  So introducing my NaMoPaiMo model… I’ve started painting her twice and stripped her twice. This time I’m determined to get it right! I mean third times a charm right? If all goes according to plan, she will be a dappled grey with a stripe and possibly a few socks by February 29! I also have a few side projects… This little girl will be a chestnut like her mom,  April Showers . I also want to get this guy painted as some kind of bay… I’m not sure if I’ll be doing a red bay, dark bay, etc.   I sanded down his head a little bit to make him more Arabian-typey And my last side project

This and That

 I haven’t made a bunch of stuff lately, but I’ll show you what I did make :) First… A blanket for Dream Catcher.  I am very happy with this one! It’s my favorite blanket so far! (Then again, I say that with every single one I make 😂. I guess that means I’m getting better 😅) Then of course I had to make a rope halter to match and take a few pictures… (I made a matching lead rope too, but forgot to take a picture of it) Then I got my leather out and made some boots! I didn’t have mini magnets for the straps, so I improvised! (But mini magnets are being shipped as I write😉) I found some metal thingies that look like long skinny nails… and put the head through the leather. I’ll be making more as soon as the magnets come. This way is  waaayyyy to time consuming! And on other news… Breyerfest tickets are FINALLY on sale! I haven’t gotten mine yet but I will soon. And Breyer is doing a giveaway for leap year!
