Breyerfest Auction Models and Tractor Supply Company Models!!!

 The first auction horse, lot #1 is a gourgeous glossy dappled bay on the Trotting Morgan mold

If he wasn’t a glossy, he would definitely be my favorite of the auction models revealed so far! But, alas, glossy is not my thing. 

The second horse lot #2 is a beautiful red dun overo on the new(ish) paso fino mold. 

He is very handsome! One of my top three favorites!


Next, lot #3, my favorite of the auction models so far, is the Fell Pony done as a beautiful strawberry roan sabino. 

She is like a mini (and much more detailed) Heath! 


Lot #4 is the only decorator so far, a vibrant peacock-themed Andalusian.
I don’t care for most decorators, and this guy is no exception. They just aren’t my thing 🤷🏼‍♀️. But I can see how he might be a lot of people’s favorite!

Lot #5 is on the Quarter Horse Yearling mold colored as a chestnut tobiano with cat tracks! 
I don’t like the mold, but this color is amazing!!!

Lot #6 is a chestnut brindle on Dundee! 
I’m not a huge fan, but the details on this guy are really nice!

Lot #7 is…. nonexistent?? They must have messed up the numbers or maybe they are keeping it secret until BreyerFest?


Anyway, lot #8 is a dappled grey with a somatic mutation. 
Honestly, i think they could have done a much better job on him… he looks weird to me.

Lot #9 is a beautiful glossy palomino on the Sham mold. I think this guy will be one of the favorites among collectors.

That’s it for the auction models so far! More will be revealed (hopefully) soon. 

And as for the TSC (Tractor Supply Company) models, they have appeared on the TSC website!

First, we have the new Freedom Series set. It’s interesting how they paired two newer molds with the old mustang mare… 

I am going to have  to find this guy ! He looks to be really detailed for a Classic!


And, the first of the traditional horses:

His color looks pretty nice, but I’m not a huge fan of the mold, so an easy pass for me.

The next FFA horse is on the Clydesdale stallion mold. A nice choice! But I don’t need any of the FFA horses, so I’m still safe😉


Then we have this palomino blanket Appaloosa on the Lonesome Glory mold. I wouldn’t be surprised if she is the most popular release.



And the last one, a beautiful bay on the Roxy mold. Ohhh… when I first saw her I thought I was safe. But the more I look at her… and that name! I mean… Bugaboo?!? It’s adorable! I think I might need her after all🤣

    Ooooooohhhh that Roxy is indeed divine! I too love her name; it makes her sound so cute! She'll be my third Roxy-- I can't get enough of the mold lol.

    I think that my favorite auction model is the fell pony, and my favorite TSC model(s) is the classics set.

Practice Makes Perfect

A few weeks back, I got some new leather lace. So I decided that it was time to make some halters. My first victim was Snowman. His mold is the perfect one to try things on, in my opinion. (And he needed a new halter anyway) Here’s how it came out: As usual, I made all the hardware myself. I can’t really afford to get a bunch from Rio Rondo.    But this was my first attempt at a rolled throat latch. I am very pleased with how it came out. :) I think Snowman is pleased too! After I completed the first halter, I was just dying to make another. This time I made one for my  favorite Breyer , Adamek. I used all the same techniques, but this time I tried adding little stitch marks to all the leather. I was really happy with that one too, but I still felt that I could do better. So I got one of my other horses.(My only horse that I  cannot name! Seriously, literally nothing I think of suits him. )  And started making one for him. NaMoPaiMo

 Well, I meant to get this posted a week ago, but better late than never! For those of you who don’t know, NaMoPaiMo stands for National Model Painting Month. It was founded by Jennifer Buxton in 2017. You have one month (February) to paint and complete a model horse. You can find more information on  this  page   of  Jennifer Buxton’s blog . Anyway, long story short, I signed up for this year(my first year!)  So introducing my NaMoPaiMo model… I’ve started painting her twice and stripped her twice. This time I’m determined to get it right! I mean third times a charm right? If all goes according to plan, she will be a dappled grey with a stripe and possibly a few socks by February 29! I also have a few side projects… This little girl will be a chestnut like her mom,  April Showers . I also want to get this guy painted as some kind of bay… I’m not sure if I’ll be doing a red bay, dark bay, etc.   I sanded down his head a little bit to make him more Arabian-typey And my last side project

This and That

 I haven’t made a bunch of stuff lately, but I’ll show you what I did make :) First… A blanket for Dream Catcher.  I am very happy with this one! It’s my favorite blanket so far! (Then again, I say that with every single one I make 😂. I guess that means I’m getting better 😅) Then of course I had to make a rope halter to match and take a few pictures… (I made a matching lead rope too, but forgot to take a picture of it) Then I got my leather out and made some boots! I didn’t have mini magnets for the straps, so I improvised! (But mini magnets are being shipped as I write😉) I found some metal thingies that look like long skinny nails… and put the head through the leather. I’ll be making more as soon as the magnets come. This way is  waaayyyy to time consuming! And on other news… Breyerfest tickets are FINALLY on sale! I haven’t gotten mine yet but I will soon. And Breyer is doing a giveaway for leap year!
